Radiology Revenue Cycle Specialist: FT 40 hours per week, Monday Friday ( 8am -430pm) No weekends required. The Radiology Revenue Cycle Specialist: Under supervision of a departmental administrator, the Revenue Specialist position is responsible for performing various functions related to the analysis, identification and interpretation of revenue information, determining/enacting remedies for matters of concern that produce positive outcomes for the institution. The review, oversight and auditing functions performed within this position are important in validating all operations impacting revenue conform to all regulatory/non-regulatory but contracted entities, requiring a high degree of reasoning and independent judgment on their findings. Proactively identifies outpatient service-based revenue charge/service master opportunities in their assigned department. Performs analysis in different scenarios that contribute to the resolution, prevention of denials impacting revenue. Develops and produces reports that monitor, and benchmark areas impacted by revenue/reimbursement operations. Works with assigned areas to ensure accuracy of charge and service profiles, as well as their related applications. Communicates and validates the execution of various processes and documentation requirements for accurate and compliant charge capture. Works collaboratively with revenue cycle areas and information system owners to identify and resolve charging concerns when applicable. Participates in ongoing coordination and resolution of revenue issues as they arise. Evaluates compliance to, or changes in, government regulations or third party payer requirements and alert appropriate owners. Conducts on-going monitoring and auditing of areas assigned to ensure appropriate charging, reconciliation processes, etc. Serves as liaison between clinical and revenue cycle areas on new product/service lines, including pricing and payor specific billing criteria. Conducts periodic analysis of pricing policies around annual charge increases, algorithms for product and drug and services pricing, and price estimation process. Works with Division of Finance to perform applicable analyses that demonstrate net revenue effect on proposed revenue charging changes. Provides valuable input for revenue cycle process improvement initiatives. Produces reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as needed. Assists with developing and updating policies and procedures for efficient claims processing and increased productivity of the department. Organizes, directs, and participates in the compilation and analysis of data and submits specified hospital, physician patient information to authorized groups or committees. Upload and download images from the Patient Archiving and Communications System Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. Required Qualifications: Competencies: Must be able to exhibit coding experience to include ICD-CM, CPT, HCPCS, inpatient, outpatient surgery, outpatient and ER records. Must process advanced mathematical abilities to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division individually and in conjunction with each other; calculate decimals and percentages and present statistical activities/data necessary for committee /administration analysis. Ability to design and provide training presentations to various groups including employees and management staff. Ability to assemble, analyze, comprehend, copy, record and/or transcribe data and/or information according to universal practices. Ability to initiate an exchange of information for the purpose of obtaining information and clarification of details. Ability to start, stop, operate and monitor the functioning of information systems, equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagrammatic form, aptitude for deductive reasoning leading to predictable outcomes. Ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of pre­ defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change. Ability to make a great first impression and to maintain ongoing positive relationship with customers; recover from service failures timely and professional manner. Competent in speaking and understanding oral and written English. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relationships with staff physicians, Hospital and University officials, and the general public. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or other related field. Will consider 5 years of progressive experience in a healthcare setting in a Radiology Department in lieu of degree. Experience: At least two years’ experience in healthcare revenue support.
