Description

Robert Half is hiring to fill a Payroll Manager role – you will be able to work from home most of the time, and the payroll processes are in place and the data is clean! As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of weekly payroll for our diverse workforce of nearly 200 employees, which includes both union and non-union personnel. You will ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive payroll information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and oversee full cycle weekly payroll for up to 200 employees, including union and non-union workers.

  • Maintain employee profiles and payroll information, including union rates & fringes, payroll tax rates, etc.

  • Calculate and issue weekly payroll checks/direct deposits accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Process weekly payroll tax, garnishment, and 401k payments.

  • Prepare weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports and submit to appropriate governmental agencies.

  • Manage unemployment claims, union reporting and audits, OCIP, and all requested payroll forms.

  • Ensure compliance with union, state, and local agency requirements by processing certified payroll reports.

  • Assist in resolving employee benefit issues as needed.

  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accuracy of payroll invoicing and reconciliation.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel) preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
