Description

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Release of Information Clerk. The responsibility of this role is to manage and protect our clients’ sensitive and confidential medical information.

Responsibilities:

• Process requests for the release of information in accordance with company policies, HIPAA guidelines, and applicable legislation.

• Manage sensitive and confidential information, ensuring all data is kept in the required manner.

• Maintain and update records with changes to any information retrieved or released.

• Verify the legitimacy of all information requests and ensure they are adequately authorized before retrieval.

• Communicate with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies to facilitate the release of information.

• Manage a high-volume workload within a deadline-driven environment.

• Perform quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all released information.

• Ensure the confidentiality and security of all healthcare records.

  Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.

• Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.

• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and regulations related to the release of healthcare information.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
