Join our team as an Employment Specialist and take on the rewarding role of developing and implementing personalized career planning, job placement, and job retention services.
As an Employment Specialist, you'll be responsible for compiling client information, assisting with individualized career planning, creating employer relationships, teaching job seeking and retention skills, and advocating for clients with employers and other stakeholders. Our ideal candidate has experience providing employment services, strong communication and customer service skills, and a deep understanding of the local labor market.

Key Responsibilities:
Treat all clients, referral sources, stakeholders, and team members with dignity and respect
Adhere to all confidentiality, CARF, and contractual standards during service provision
Maintain flexibility in work availability, including evenings, overnights, and weekends
Compile and review client information to assist with individualized career planning
Schedule and participate in team/planning meetings to discuss client employment goals
Conduct client orientation and explain services, rights, responsibilities, and disclosure
Assist clients with individualized career planning, job development, and retention services
Teach and reinforce job seeking and job retention skills with clients
Create employer relationships and provide employer services to develop job opportunities
Serve as an advocate for clients with employers and other stakeholders
Educate employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities
Promote the organization, services, and clients in a professional manner
Maintain frequent contact with referral sources to discuss shared clients
Report job development outcomes and other relevant information to supervisor
Respond to client crises that may occur at the worksite
Travel extensively to conduct job development and supports, including client transport
Provide on-site or off-site job supports for clients as required
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
Associate's or bachelor's degree in an applicable field preferred
At least one year of experience providing employment services
Required License/Certification (one of the following):
- Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance
Additional Qualifications:
Good understanding of supporting individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment
Knowledge of case management and rehabilitation principles related to mental health/substance use
Awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders
Knowledge of treatment modalities and legal requirements in mental health/substance use
Ability to evaluate services and give input on program development
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
