Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will be accountable for the execution and delivery of regional employee relations activities including employee matters and investigations and compliance, supporting our non-plant workforce. In this role, you will handle conflict resolutions, industrial relations and employee relations-based investigations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the Employee Relations/Labor Relations Center of Expertise to provide relevant and effective consulting services to businesses for North America (US/Canada) region.

  • Consult and provide subject matter expertise (SME) experience to Business and HR Leaders regarding highly complex separations, including Reductions In Force to ensure compliance with both legal and Cargill expectations.

  • Act as the first point of contact for both leaders and employees on employee relations questions, provide guidance and consultation to resolve workforce concerns.

  • Develop training and provide consultation on employee relations policies and procedures for the broader Cargill ER network.

  • Independently solve complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement HR processes and client focused solutions. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and lead by influence.

  • Experience conducting investigations, anticipating issues, problem solving and implementing solutions.

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of both US and Canada laws, regulations and best practices

  • Experience working in HRIS systems, and case management systems

  • Ability to identify external ER best practices and propose solutions to support the maturity of Cargills global ER/LR CoE.
