Google Trust and Safety Investigations Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in Trust and Safety, intelligence, security analysis, threat or risk management, geopolitical forecasting, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in internet technology, online search, online platforms, online advertising, online publishing, policy enforcement, user trust, risk, fraud investigation, or product abuse.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, with stakeholders and executives.

  • Experience in data analysis and working with datasets, SQL, or Large Language Models (LLMs).

  • Experience in process/project management with excellent prioritization skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to process ambiguous information to drive business strategies and decisions.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. The Trust and Safety Investigations team hunts for threats and potential risks to Google's users across its products. The team then works with different product teams to fix the problems and keep users safe. Their investigations provide information to help Google make informed decisions to manage issues.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Support the Intel cycle across a variety of Google products and produce informative analytics and investigations.

  • Ensure investigative outputs meet the needs of a cross-functional and cross-product audience.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and deploy data sources, systems, and tools that can support the investigations workflow. Provide regular case studies to inform emerging risks to executives and other teams.

  • Analyze geopolitical developments, social issues, and other online-related events to identify emerging trends and predict new forms of abuse.

  • Work with sensitive content or situations and graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
