Seattle Children’s Hospital Research Scientist I in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities The Emerson lab focuses on modeling malignant brain tumors (e. g. , glioblastoma, high-grade meningioma, etc.) and their interaction with the tumor microenvironment through the use of cerebral organoids and single cell techniques. Experiments will include the use of patient-derived tumor tissue, with the goal of translating findings in the lab to treatments for patients. Besides the exciting projects in translational brain tumor research, we offer a great lab environment in the vibrant South Lake Union region of Seattle. The laboratory will support initiatives to promote the scientific/medical careers of technicians. Duties include: Perform laboratory procedures and investigative work as part of ongoing research projects. Perform a variety of moderately complex investigative/technical procedures; interpret results and determine whether they are consistent with experimental goals; modify experimental procedures or techniques to obtain optimal experimental results; assist in the assembly, organization and interpretation of data. Assist in the planning, execution, and analysis of research experiments. Requirements Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, or biochemistry. Prior experience in a laboratory setting. Preferred: Research experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and tissue culture techniques is highly preferred. Min to Max Hourly Salary$25.09 - $37.64 /hrMin to Max Annual Salary$52,187.20 - $78,291.20 /yrSalary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
