Omni Hotels Retail Supervisor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Location

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center(OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), coffee shop (Park Grounds) and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Additionally, guests can enjoy a Mokara Spa, fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) complete with a fire pit, outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20,000 square foot ballroom, 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space that overlooks the park.

Job Description

Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is seeking an energetic Retail Supervisor to join the team of this upscale hotel.The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a true outdoor recreation, entertainment and culinary destination paying homage to the heritage and modern progress of the city. With 605 guest rooms and suites, the luxury hotel will showcase views of the 70-acre Scissortail Park and the downtown skyline with 75,000 square feet of meeting and event space, sports bar, specialty restaurant, coffee shop and a retail venue.

This team member will be responsible all aspects relating to managing daily retail operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, meeting financial goals, and being an effective and supportive leader.

Responsibilities

  • The ability to manage and oversee all Rarebird associates and activities.

  • Proactively work to seek out ways in which to improve the Rarebird experience for our guests.

  • The ability to help in the process of interviewing and selecting job applicants as well as supervise, discipline, and give performance evaluations for retail department employees.

  • The ability to schedule staff and complete payroll records in accordance with budgeted guidelines.

  • Conduct and schedule vendor training to provide product information on lines sold in designated outlets.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

  • Be thoroughly acquainted with all technical equipment to fully utilize its capabilities and extend efficient services to hotel guests.

  • Create a selling culture through sales training and weekly performance feedback. Monitor weekly and monthly sales performance guidelines for each Sales Associate to ensure they are achieving budgeted sales objectives.

  • Coach, counsel, and discipline staff as needed.

  • Participate in monthly physical inventories for designated outlets including coordination of staff and resolution of variances and accountable for results with store supervisor.

  • Make recommendations to Director of Rooms during annual budget preparation and during monthly forecasting exercise.

  • Analyze product performance. Make recommendations to Director of Rooms regarding current stock levels and new trends or product lines appropriate for designated outlets.

  • The ability to work closely with Engineering to maintain proper mechanical operation and report any problems found in the Retail areas.

  • The ability to be responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage, and cost-effective usage of all department-related materials and assets, according to standards to ensure for smooth operation.

  • The ability to oversee the cleanliness and coordinate special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, Stewarding, and Engineering.

  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

  • Adhere to all policies regarding employee purchases.

  • Follow proper procedures for all logs, receipts and returns.

  • Follow proper procedures for accepting credit card, checks, cash, rooms charges and holds.

  • Do not leave merchandise unsecured.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience in similar position preferred.

  • Past experience in new store opening marketing, financial forecasting and experience with diverse retail merchandise offering preferred.

  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required, must be able to communicate with guests and staff professionally and with empathy.

  • Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary

  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.

  • Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.

  • Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
