Co-manages all aspects of the Educational Opportunity Program-Student Support Services (EOP-SSS) TRiO College Program, which is designed to enable eligible Marquette undergraduates (i.e., low-income and/or potential first-generation college) to enroll in and graduate from Marquette; participate in long range planning to secure and maintain external funding, including a US Department of Education/TRIO-funded SSS grant; collaborate with other EOP units to integrate the College Program with other EOP and Marquette operations, as appropriate. Requires a person with excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills who is extremely well organized, capable of planning and performing a variety of tasks simultaneously, and sensitive to issues affecting the educational performance of program students. Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc. as one of the job\'s responsibilities. Assist with providing new employee orientation; meet with individual staff regularly to assess performance and provide feedback; provide and participate in ongoing staff development opportunities including in-service training, TRIO-funded training conferences and other opportunities for professional growth. May have responsibility of supervising graduate assistants. 2. Serve as counselor/advisor to EOP undergraduates and participate in other direct service delivery. Provide academic, social, and personal advising; monitor individual student progress and performance; lead seminars and workshops for students and staff; serve as advisor to various EOP student groups. 3. Assist EOP leadership with the management of the office. Attend university committee meetings in the absence of other leaders; facilitate the College Division Staff Meetings in the absence of the other program leaders; maintain and update current copies of applicable policies and regulations; understand and apply University and funding agency policies, procedures; assign students to their EOP advisor; represent EOP-SSS at campus and community functions. Please Visit Marquette University\'s Website for a full list of Duties and Responsibilities. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIF CATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master\'s degree required in counseling, education, or a related field. Four or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience including budget management, supervision of staff, and planning/implementation responsibilities for organizations or projects that are comparable to the EOP college division in scope and complexity. Four or more years of experience in a position involving direct service (teaching, counseling, academic advising, etc.) to students who are low-income, potential first-generation college students. Some travel and weekend work required. Excellent organizational skills, both verbal and written. Computer literacy including knowledge of database use/management, Internet use, and word processing skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Related experience with student or community groups that address issues affecting low-income and/or potential first-generation college students is desired, as is personal experience in overcoming barriers like those confronting students in the Program\'s target population. TRIO experience desired.
