Process Engineer II – Grafton, WI

The Process Sustaining Engineer II provides process engineering, process development and project management support to Organichem.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential new products, develop PFDs, P&IDs, establish chemical balance for each production step, assess capital requirements

• Project engineering and management of process and plant improvement projects as required

• Develop and assist in execution of validation protocols required to maintain compliance with cGMPs

• Process engineering support for Production department efforts including: scale-up of new products; and general liaison between Engineering and Production

• Analyze chemical processes by statistical and cost analysis to prioritize improvement efforts

• Lead teams in special projects involving single or multiple disciplines or organizations

• Identify and evaluate new equipment/technologies that enhance our manufacturing capabilities

• Assist in training and development of production staff as required

• Provide technical support to Production, Maintenance and Quality for process, equipment, and quality issues

• Travel to customer facilities to support sales/engineering presentations as required

• Follow Curia’s dress code and personal protective equipment SOP

• Perform all duties within the guidelines outlined by Good Manufacturing Practices for active pharmaceutical intermediates and site Safety Program requirements

• Perform all duties in an environmentally compliant manner in accordance with the site Environmental Program requirements

• Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or service

• Participate in self-development activities

• Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field

• Minimum 3-5 years’ chemical process engineering experience

Preferred

• Capital project experience

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Proficient in documentation

• Ability to work with others in a team environment

• Ability to work in a demanding physical and intellectual environment.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
