Eaton Corporation Custom Order Engineer (Hybrid) in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Custom Order Engineer (Hybrid) in Fayetteville, NC.

The primary function of the Custom Order Engineer is to provide applications engineering for product line support. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering designs, providing direction to application engineers and designers, and collaborating with direct customers/field sales.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. Relocation benefit offered to qualified candidate. Hybrid schedule offered after 1 year in position.

What you’ll do:

  • Emphasis on working with electrical, electro-mechanical, programmable logic controllers, and solid-state controls in motor control applications and electrical distribution systems.

  • Maintain familiarity with communications protocols, variable speed drives and solid-state starters in order to maintain design standards.

  • Manage large projects to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision.

  • Interpret customer one-line diagrams and specifications to determine order requirements and apply Eaton designs to meet customer’s expectations.

  • Perform standard engineering assignments often representing a significant portion of a larger project for Eaton. Coordinate with other Eaton product lines and business units as needed to ensure quality of products to end customer

  • Set-up and programming of PLC, HMI/MMI applications and electronic relays.

  • Generate electrical schematics and mechanical layouts based on information received from Sales and Marketing.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering concentration from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Previous experience and/or knowledge of electrical distribution equipment.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs.

Skills:

Position Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of N.E.C., IEEE, UL, and various local electric codes.

  • Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Utilization of substantial motor control product knowledge for communication with field sales, customers, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.

  • Quality Systems / Corporate Programs: Ensure compliance where applicable with systems and programs, such as, but not limited to: ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, Underwriters Laboratory, NEMA, etc.

  • Participate in and demonstrate understanding of other programs, such as: Eaton Business System (EBS), Management of Environmental Safety and Health (MESH), etc.
