QUALIFICATIONS:\ Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties and responsibilities listed below. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures.A person, under the supervision of the kitchen manager, performs the various tasks necessary to prepare, serve and clean up after the school food service meals.High school diploma/G.E.D.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in preparation and serving food in a quick and pleasant manner.
- Produces quality food products and follows standardized recipes closely
- Operates a variety of equipment, including grinder, mixer, oven, range, dishwasher, steam kettle, slicer, etc.
- When tasks are completed, check with the manager and others for instructions to help others. Team players are essential in all successful operations.
- Assist in the general daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.
- Assists in major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as requested.
- Attends relevant training classes and workshops in order to maintain food service knowledge
- Assists with the proper storage and disposal of unused foods.
- Deals with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive encouraging manner.
- Knows and follows school policy and chain of command.
- Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
All non-certificated staff not under contract are under at-will employment. Their positions shall be considered in all respects employment at will and the employee is subject to discharge by the district at any time without cause. The employment period and other descriptions and terms set forth in their job descriptions shall not create a property right in the employee and such are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what type of services will be required by the district so long as employment continues.
The employment period shall be for nine (9) months with vacations as specified by district rules and regulations. The salary shall be determined by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Trustees.
