This position performs shelter support within the shelter by providing support to the staff with daily tasks. Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Basic sanitization and cleaning duties while following established protocols of the Dickinson Animal Shelter.
• Cleaning used dishes in the dish room.
• Laundry duties- washing, drying, and folding.
• Sweeping and mopping of facility.
• Help with enrichment prep and socialization with animals.
• Assist with greeting citizens.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn and follow Dickinson Animal Shelter policies.
• Willingness and ability to learn general lay out of the Dickinson Animal Shelter and location of items.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow basic sanitization and cleaning protocols of the Dickinson Animal Shelter.
• Able and willing to be near and to socialize with animals.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move for longer periods of time.

Qualifications

• Must be age 18 or older

Working Conditions:

• Duties typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
• Medium Work: Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds force constantly to move objects.
