Elevance Health Actuarial Analyst III in Denver, Colorado

Actuarial Analyst III

Location: Indianapolis, IN; Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; St. Louis, MO preferred but open to any Pulse Point location.

Must be within a 50-mile radius of an open access Pulse Point location.

This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid workforce strategy which includes virtual work and 1-2 days in office per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time on site will be discussed as part of the hiring process.

The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Use analytical tools to perform sophisticated analysis to set unpaid claim reserves for Medicaid business.

  • Assist in the determination and explanation of drivers of results and financial impacts to leadership & business partners.

  • Improve analytical reporting to provide additional insights and increase efficiency.

  • Support the completion of regulatory reporting.

  • Provide support/coordination for special actuarial projects.

  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists

  • Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the division.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience working with data warehouses and knowledge of SQL.

  • Valuation experience.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $88,000.00 to $158,400.00
