Description of Duties:

The Intermediate DCO Data Analyst supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

· Perform Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO)/Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) duties outlined in Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM).

· Familiarity & Knowledge with Kibana, Logstash, and ElasticSearch

· Analyze data sources to provide actionable recommendations.

· Collect metrics and trending data.

· Develop strategic insights from large data sets.

· Present technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.

· Manipulate and clean large, disparate datasets for bulk analysis to identify connections.

· Read, interpret, write, modify, and execute scripts, macros, and functions.

· Utilize different programming languages to write code, open files, read files, and write output to different files.

· Familiarity & Knowledge with Kubernetes, Kafka, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud, and Nifi.

· Basic understanding of Python, Bash, and markup languages (YAML).

The successful candidate will have:

· Skill in conducting queries and developing algorithms to analyze data structures.

· Skill in generating queries and reports.

· Skill in using basic descriptive statistics and techniques (e.g., normality, model distribution, scatter plots).

· Skill in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, STATA SAS, SPSS).

· Knowledge of data mining and data warehousing principles.

· Knowledge of query languages such as SQL (structured query language).

· Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).

· Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.

· Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

· Knowledge of how to utilize Hadoop, Java, Python, SQL, Hive, and PIG to explore data.

· Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.

· Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS).

· Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environment and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments.

· Knowledge of how to collect, store, and monitor data.

· Knowledge of how to structure and display data.

This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.

This position is expected to pay $111,300 - $136,300 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 6 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 4 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of general experience; Master’s Degree and 0 years of general experience.

· Must have 4 years of direct experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)

· Must have 1 year of experience in management or leadership roles

· Must have a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP)

· Must be able to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Infrastructure Support certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CEH, CySA , GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud , CND) (Note: Any/all expenses associated with obtaining this certification will be at the employees expense)

· Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret

Desired Requirements:

· Ability to interpret and incorporate data from multiple tool sources.

· Ability to identify basic common coding flaws at a high level.

· Have experience with Security Operations Centers (SOC)/DCO tools/applications, such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems / Intrusion Prevention Systems, Network Security Manager, Bluecoat, Barracuda, etc.

· Be able to mentor and train personnel in an evolving, high-paced environment

· Be familiar with DCO/Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP)-guiding security policies and procedures

· Have an active DoD Top Secret clearance
