Credit Review Manager - Commercial Real Estate

The Credit Review Manager position is a team member in the bank’s third line Credit Review function’s Commercial Real Estate team. The Credit Review team is an independent team reporting to the bank’s Audit Committee responsible for oversight of all bank lending activities. The Credit Review Manager is responsible for the independent evaluation of borrower-level loan transactions, credit portfolios, and credit risk management practices throughout the bank’s Commercial Real Estate portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Review individual credit transactions and business unit portfolios, including assisting senior Credit Review staff with more complex reviews.

  • Assess asset quality, loan structure, quality and accuracy of underwriting, identification of key risks, and overall evaluation of the ultimate support of the credit decision rendered.

  • Ensure accuracy of assigned credit risk and regulatory ratings and proper model usage.

  • Confirm compliance with established credit policies and risk appetite.

  • Evaluate management oversight process, assign overall credit management and asset quality ratings and formulate recommendations to proactively reduce credit risk and potential losses.

  • Identify potential weaknesses and emerging trends.

  • Utilize influencing skills to resolve issues and agree to solutions prior to finalization of exam reports.

  • Incorporate findings and recommendations into written reports which are ultimately distributed to executive management and external regulatory bodies.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 10+ years of advanced analytical, loan structuring, underwriting, and credit experience in Commercial Real Estate sector.

  • Solid understanding of US regulatory rating framework and US regulatory requirements governing Commercial Real Estate credit risk management

  • Previous bank credit review or bank examiner experience is highly preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently in a geographically dispersed environment.

  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to defend position in collaborative manner.

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment, lead others, and appropriately prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Bachelors Degree is required

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
