Job Summary

The Associate Director of Research Operations, will provide strategic leadership for the Center of Human Potential and Public Policy (CHPPP) and its research, housed at the Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab (BIP Lab). Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the BIP Lab, the position has overall responsibility for managing research implementation with a particular focus on research implementation partnerships, implementation science, and data collection at the BIP Lab. This position also supervises a project team, overseeing the planning and implementation of research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Research and lab administration: leads project team in the implementation of research and programming; troubleshoots issues with project teams; advises on data collection strategy; supports research design; provides expert guidance on IRB protocols; manages controlled trial registration submissions; leads research implementation protocols, presentations, and workshops for full lab team.
  • Data management and dissemination: ensures adherence to highest standards of data security and storage; conducts quality assurance/auditing on research protocol; manages process for making data publicly available; build data systems and protocol in consultation with PhD team.
  • Grant administration: supports reporting to sponsors; drafts programmatic reports/memos.
  • Partnerships: develops strategic research implementation partnerships; meets with organizations and students interested in CHPPP/BIP Lab\'s research; leads written and verbal reports and presentations to potential and existing research partners; leads strategic partner recruitment across projects, supports preparation of study specific promotional materials.
  • Uses subject matter and best practices knowledge to perform lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Works independently to assist with project design.
  • Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts.
  • Presents research findings at meetings and conferences, as well as to funding agencies. Conducts literature reviews. Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field of study (psychology, public policy, sociology, education, or related s cial science discipline).
  • Master\'s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Project management.
  • 5 years experience with research design and implementation, data management, and procedures of a university IRB.
  • 5 years experience working with community-based organizations and with racially/ethnically diverse populations.

Preferred Competencies

  • Excellent team player - collaborative, reliable, ability to receive and give constructive feedback, flexible, supportive.
  • Ability to take initiative, problem solve with minimal supervision, exercise good judgment, prioritize, and work under pressure during high volume times.
  • Project management experience.
