Responsibilities

The following duties are intended to be representative of the work performed by incumbents in this position and is not all-inclusive. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.

  • The Social Worker provides social work interventions for Oncology patient and family needs.

  • Coordinates care plans for outpatients, including developing plans for ongoing treatment through services and agencies.

  • Performs a psycho/social assessment for continuity of care planning for in/outpatients.

  • Provides short-term adjustment counseling to assist with emotional, social, and economic stresses of illness and disability.

  • Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team to develop a coordinated care plan for patients.

  • Participates in quality assurance to enhance patient satisfaction.

  • Participates in informal and formal consultations; provide, present, and participate in support and training; arrange speakers and develop materials and programs.

  • Participates in Medical Center committees and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

· Master's of Social Work from an accredited college or university is required .

· Registration with the state of Washington as either a Licensed Social Work Associate (LSWAIC), Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Social Work Associate Advanced (LSWAA) or Social Work Advanced (LISW). May consider an Agency Affiliated Counselor with the expectation of active pursuit of their Social Work Licensure.

· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

· Working knowledge of individual and family dynamics and the ability to perform psycho/social assessments

· Understanding of systems and how to work within systems

· Understanding of the impact and implications of disease and the course of disease

Pay Range

$35.15 - $50.40 /hour
