The Product Identity Project Manager oversees industrial design projects from start to completion, ensuring the seamless execution of top-tier product designs. The ideal candidate for this role should have strong project management skills and a dedication to delivering high-quality products. Collaboration with a cross-functional development team is required to gather project requirements for drafting project briefs, timelines, and deliverables. Additionally, oversight of on-site design contractors and outsourced design projects and design suppliers is part of the responsibilities.

Role & Responsibility

  • Manage industrial design projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives and design standards.

  • Gather project brief details and oversee design project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design Team and New Product Development (NPD) functions, engineering, product management and manufacturing, to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the design process.

  • Act as the main point of contact for design contractors and outsource design suppliers, managing project details and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial targets.

  • Allocate resources effectively, balancing workload and ensuring the optimal utilization of team members' skills.

  • Identify potential risks and challenges within projects and develop proactive mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain high standards of quality, ensuring that projects meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of design deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to project goals.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.

  • Proactively address any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design process, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency and innovation.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in industrial design.

  • Foster a collaborative and creative environment to drive successful project outcomes.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Business, with experience in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • 5-7 years experience of project management experience is required of project management experience is required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred but not required Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred but not required.

  • Strong leadership and project management abilities, demonstrated by a history of effectively overseeing and executing design projects, ideally within industrial design and manufacturing settings.

  • Proven experience as a project manager, preferably in an industrial design, product design and manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse global teams and suppliers.

  • Exceptional organizational acumen to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects to successful completion. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of financial principles and how they would apply to a development project.

  • Proven ability to manage a comprehensive project plan considering Critical Path methodology while understanding cause and effect throughout the schedule.

  • Effective leadership abilities, capable of motivating project teams and ensuring accountability towards project objectives and commitments throughout the New Product Development (NPD) process.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various project management tools and softwareProficient in MS Office and project management tools and software.

  • Experience managing on-site contractors and outsourced projects.
