ManTech Lab Manager Journeyman in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lab Manager, Journeyman to join our team in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the lab management of a tactical software intensive environment.

  • Supports planning and administrative efforts for new and existing software received from the Software Engineering Center (SEC) and SEC customers.

  • Provides advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues that encompass IT specialties such as software integration, lab management, networking and data management.

  • Lead efforts directed by local organization tenants Branch Chiefs, ISSO, and ISSM.

  • Maintain lab equipment inventories and personnel seating diagrams, while scheduling equipment turn ins with property book holders and property personnel.

  • Create budget estimates, plan, execute, and track lab funding for all assigned tasks.

  • Submit and track maintenance requests as needed to facilities office.

  • Coordinate with external entities to ensure lab operating systems receive timely tech refresh and required updates.

  • Receive and forward reports of violations, infractions, and spillages to local security office.

  • Check and coordinate visit and swipe access requests to lab spaces.

  • Monitor lab physical security controls.

  • Ensure cyber security requirements are fully integrated into all phases of acquisition, upgrades, and modifications through configuration change board requests.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or Technical discipline is required. Four (4) additional years of applicable professional experience can substitute a degree.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related professional work experience within the past eight (8) years. Nine (9) years of professional experience is required without a qualifying degree.

  • Current CompTIA Network+ certification.

  • Current industry recognized Computing Environment (CE) certifications (e.g. MCSE, CCNA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In addition to the basic qualifications above, professional work experience and competence with JPAS, DISS, Visio and SharePoint are strongly desired skills.

  • Strong written communication skills.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • DOD Secret Clearance Required

  • Must be available to obtain a TS/SCI

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,800-$185,500. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
